Cluster Working

Working with our local surgeries to get better outcomes for our patients

As a Welsh GP practice we work collectively with other local surgeries in clusters.

Working in clusters allows GP practices to collaborate more effectively, share resources, and deliver better, more consistent care for patients. By working together, practices can pool skills and expertise, improve access to services, and respond more flexibly to local health needs, particularly for more complex or vulnerable patients. Clusters also support joint problem-solving, reduce duplication of work, and strengthen resilience across practices, helping to manage increasing demand and workforce pressures while maintaining high-quality, patient-centred care.

For example the North Cynon cluster currently pools resources to fund a nurse to look after our elderly residents in care homes across the patch. This provides excellent care to our patients in care homes and supports the local GP's in practice.
